Metrology-grade coax accessories stretch to 110GHz

Fitted with 1mm-compatible W1 connectors, within the selection is a power splitter, a power divider, a directional coupler and some attenuators.

“The family removes measurement complexity, reduces measurement setup time, and improves accuracy, making them a superior alternative to millimeter-interfaced solutions,” claimed the firm. “Unlike solutions that are based on banded waveguide frequencies that require a waveguide interface, the W1 components are not band limited.

The three-resistor power divider, two-resistor power splitter and attenuators coverer dc to 110GHz, and the directional coupler  spans 20-110GHz “with typical performance down to 110MHz”, said Anritsu.

As an example of performance, insertion loss of the 41W-10 attenuator is 8.50-11.50dB across 20-110GHz, and minimum return loss is 10dB at 110GHz.

Applications are expected characterising on-wafer components, automotive radar amplifiers and other automotive components, as well as instrument calibration and characterisation in metrology labs.
